I put myself through art school using money I'd earned from serving five years in the US Army, via the Army College Fund. I learned a lot of different skills like: logo design, use of typography, color theory, airbrush techniques, life drawing, advertising, how to paint with gouache and watercolor, pastel and charcoal drawing, still life drawing, production art, photography, packaging design and how to put together a resume and portfolio and much, much more.
These were painted using watercolor.
This was from a very difficult class with a very strict instructor. But she taught me a lot and it helped me get my first production art job, even though computer skills had taken the place of this method of production art.
